Mukagali Makatayev is a bright star of Kazakh poetry, a poet whose verses found their way into the hearts of the people. The pages of his diary hold secrets never told to anyone, a true chronicle of the poet’s inner world.Based on the poet’s diary, the production conveys, in the language of the stage, his joy and sorrow, his love and loneliness, and his reflections on life and poetry. Mukagali’s lines of verse and the thoughts from his diary are reread through the eyes of today and enter into a conversation with the audience of the 21st century
