On August 18, 2026, construction of QAZBOT Robotics & AI, the first robotics and AI complex in Kazakhstan, officially began in Astana.
The QAZBOT project will become a new technology hub bringing together research, engineering development, localized manufacturing, and the practical implementation of robotics and artificial intelligence solutions.
The complex is planned to host an R&D center, develop software and AI models, test and adapt robotic systems, and train engineering specialists.
The investment in the first stage of the project will amount to approximately USD 200 million.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Astana, QAZBOT Technologies, and the company’s strategic technology partner, AGIBOT.
A welcoming speech was delivered by Zholdas Sakhanov, Chairman of the Committee for Digital Assets and Breakthrough Technologies of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The participants laid the foundation for the future complex, marking the project’s transition from the concept and preparation stage to direct construction and the development of technological infrastructure.
“Today, we are moving to the practical stage of building our own technological infrastructure. Our goal is to bring together research, engineering expertise, manufacturing, and the implementation of solutions in Kazakhstan within a single ecosystem. This will enable us not only to adapt advanced technologies, but also to develop our own solutions and train qualified specialists,” said Vladislav Safarov, CEO of QAZBOT Technologies.
One of QAZBOT’s key areas of activity will be the implementation of robotics and AI solutions in real-world processes. Promising areas include industry, logistics, the financial sector, healthcare, education, the social sector, services, and other areas of the economy.
The start of construction of the complex marks the practical launch of the project and a new stage in the development of Kazakhstan’s own robotics and artificial intelligence industry.
