New schools and modern spaces: 9 educational facilities opened in Astana
Ahead of the new academic year, 9 new educational facilities have opened in Astana: seven additional school buildings at schools No. 13, 41, 72, 73, 79, 82 and 86, as well as two new schools.
The new buildings are equipped with modern classrooms, canteens, sports halls and coworking areas. Depending on their capacity, each additional building can accommodate 1,000 to 1,200 students across two shifts.
The expansion of school infrastructure will help reduce the pressure on existing buildings and ease the shortage of student places. Primary school students will be the first to study in the new buildings.
Today, more than 337,000 students attend 206 secondary education institutions in the capital, while around 33,000 children started first grade for the first time this year.
Work to develop school infrastructure in the capital continues. In recent years, 44 new schools with a capacity of more than 100,000 student places have been commissioned in Astana. Of these, 23 were built as part of the “Keleshek Mektepteri” project.
In addition, 38 educational institutions underwent renovations ahead of the new academic year. All educational facilities have been prepared for the heating season.
Thus, the development of schools in the capital is not only about creating additional places, but also about building a modern environment where children can study comfortably, play sports, socialize and pursue their interests.
New schools — new opportunities for the future generation of the capital.
